School: "To hold or not to hold..."

Summer finally headed back to school today. She has only been twice since January 30 so it's going to be a stretch. I was surprised at how well they've been able to shovel out at her school. The sidewalks leading to the school are all still covered (kids walking in the streets three abreast!) but the parking lots and curbs at the school look good.

I do have issues with teachers assigning homework on a Sunday that is due at 11:00 the next morning, however. When did Sunday become a day to do (or to assign) homework? I'm sure the school board is inundated with angry emails just now, but really???!!!

Are we in Alaska yet?

I'm starting to wonder if spring will ever come. We had this winter's second 2-foot snowstorm last weekend (which followed a smaller snowstorm the weekend before). This one dumped 26 inches on us. Crofton got 32 inches this time! Here is a picture of our deck the morning after. (The bar-b-que is on the left and a chair on the right.)

We're expected to get about 10 more inches today...Summer has been to school only four days this month and this week is not looking good... We are so blessed to have heat and food. Many families have been without electricity for several days.

Why am I not a size 4 yet!?

About two weeks ago we joined the local rec center and have started working out (walking, weights, rowing, biking--you name it!). Adam and I go three or four days a week; Summer makes it at least twice a week and Mario hasn't been yet but it HAS snowed every weekend since he bought the passes. What I want to know is why am I not a size 4 yet!?

Baby Cullen

January was a month for quilting. I made this quilt for Laura's first baby who will be born on Valentine's Day (we hope not later) and a wall hanging for Maggie which I just sent her yesterday. I also planned another quilt for Nick's baby (not so much a baby now but I was working when he was born so I'm a couple of years late) and my sister's Christmas present. (We all know I need a head start when it comes to Christmas!)
Quilting is much more fun than cleaning house!
